“TO THE ENDS OF THE EARTH”

A special “Missions Strategy” session will be held in Hazlehurst, Miss. At the Greater Damascus COCHUSA on March 15, 2006. This event will be one day before the opening of their 3^rd annual missions conference. The time for this event will be from 9am to 7 pm. This summit is open to anyone desiring to attend.. Brian Johnson of COMINAD and Melvin Jackson of Searchlight Global Missions will facilitate this summit. Many areas concerning missions will be open for discussions especially reviewing and planning for reaching the unreached.

From African tribes to Asian mega-cities – people need a chance to hear about Jesus. Our goal is to see the Book of Acts come alive as the gospel spreads quickly and churches multiply rapidly,

The excitement from last year’s Missions Conference is still in the air here at Greater Damascus and yet we are beginning to prepare for out 3^rd Annual Missions Conference. Much of the excitement came about as many of you shared with us what God is doing in and through your ministries. This years conference will take place on March 16-19, 2006. The theme of this year’s conference will be “Here Am I Lord, Sent Me”. God have been so gracious to us doing our conference time and all we can do is thank Him.

Our keynote Speaker this year will be Rev. Glenn Mason, Director of Carver International Missions. Rev. Mason served as field director for this ministry in Monrovia, Liberia West Africa for a period of time. He is a dynamic speaker and will truly challenge us from the Word of God. We are asking if all possible that you will make yourself available to be part of this year conference. We were so blessed by your presence and participation last year and know that our God is preparing us to receive so much more this year.

We invite your agency to schedule two representatives or one couple to participate as exhibitors. There will be scheduled opportunities for representatives to participate

By sharing their ministry and the work of the mission and to be available at their missions displays to answer questions. We trust you presence will impact the lives of our church body for global missions ministry and for them to learn how God is using you to make a difference in the world for Him.

‘TAKING CHRIST TO THE NATIONS’

Dear Partners in the Ministry:

Recently I had the opportunity to share with you the importance of missions and the urgency of African Americans to get involved with reaching the world for Christ. Yes, God has called even the descendants of Africa to help in the fulfillment of the Great Commission. I also shared with some of you the ministry of Searchlight Global Missions and our schedule and outreach for the year of 2006. William Carey said “Expect great things from God and He will do great things for you” And we are expecting great things in the year 2006.

May 12 to May 22, 2006, we will be taking a team into the country of Guatemala. There in the area called Chigumula, we will work with a Missions Ministry called ‘WATCHMAN ON THE WALLS’. Sis. Myra Smith, a missionary in this town, will be our host. Myra and her ministry is making a great difference for Christ in the lives of the people of Chigumula. There is no schools, no churches, no medical center and very little food for the children to eat. This is truly a labor of love for Myra Smith as she makes a difference in meeting the physical and spiritual needs of these people. But Myra needs help.

This team will be a evangelism / work team. We will go there to erect a building that will be used as a feeding center, a school and a church. The cost for this trip will be 1600.00 per person. This will take care of air fare, ground transportation in the country, food and lodging. A $300.00 deposit is required by February 1, 2006, if you desire to go on this trip. Much preparation is being made at this time for the team to come into Guatemala. The work will be exciting and challenging as we share the gospel with the natives of that country.
